While most Americans spent the Fourth of July fighting the masses to catch a fireworks show, residents at 910 Texas Street celebrated in their own backyard. 

"My favorite memories of the community are all related to the downtown view from my apartment and the parking garage, watching fireworks shows every summer and just hanging out with friends," says resident Marc Tomerlin.

"I think my favorite part of living at 910 Texas Street is the location," says resident Taylor McClain. Residents who are happy with rent? Who knew such a place existed.

Community Manager Christina Darby says—cliché as it may sound—there's something for everyone at 910 Texas Street.

910 Texas Street's one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes are undergoing a major renovation. Each apartment-ranging in size from 565 to 1,444 square feet-will receive new energy-efficient appliances, an updated kitchen design including granite countertops and tile backsplashes, updated lighting packages and new flooring. 

Select apartments also feature wood-burning fireplaces with custom mantels, wine racks, built-in microwaves, gourmet island kitchens with pot racks, breakfast nooks, oversized bathtubs and built-in bookshelves and computer desks.

But that's not all: Outside their front doors, residents will enjoy an enhanced amenity center fit for a luxury hotel. From business facilities to poolside loungers, an outdoor kitchen with a bar, fire features, festive lighting, a social lounge, dog park and fitness and pilates rooms, residents may stop leaving the premises altogether. 

Since the renovations began in 2014, the renewal rate increased from 46 percent to 55 percent.

"The floor plans offer charm, while the new renovations offer a modern flair," says Darby, who counts the pool area with gas grills, cabanas and hammocks as one of the community's biggest attractions. "The interior of the homes and the amenity areas offer our residents a unique, eclectic feel by fusing together the two styles seamlessly."

Well received, indeed. While some communities put their best Photoshopped foot forward online, residents say 910 Texas Street is even better in person.

"I was attracted to how nice the homes looked on the website, but even more so when I came to tour and visit the community," says McClain. "I'm in love with my renovated kitchen."

"The community is sophisticated and eclectic," Darby says. "It's a fun place to be."

At Your Service

When David Cortez, a maintenance professional at 910 Texas Street, received a work order to replace several light bulbs, he also noticed that the front door lock was not working properly and the bedroom door knob was loose. He fixed both items in addition to completing the original work order.

"The resident was beyond impressed that these items were completed without her ever bringing them to our attention," Darby says. "Our goal is to always over-deliver to our residents so that they continue to have a positive, lasting impression."

It's a strategy that works.

"I cannot put into words how pleased I am with the staff at 910 Texas Street," McClain says. "From moving in to rent payments to services requests-so on and so forth-the staff here has made everything as simple as can be. They've gone out of their way to help me and I've never had this much of a positive experience with customer service anywhere else." 

Such exemplary service is also reflected in the community's Luxury Amenity Campaign, which consists of services including dog walking and pet sitting from a third-party company to dry cleaning pick-up and drop-off services, vehicle lock-out service, discounted housekeeping and carpet cleaning services.

Without any chores to worry about, residents can sit back and enjoy the community's weekly events. 910 Texas Street has hosted happy hour events at local restaurants, Saturday brunch, movie nights, yappy hour for pets and an annual pool party with a DJ. The community also hands out freshly made bagels every Tuesday in its resident lounge.

"We love the opportunity to serve our residents to show them our appreciation for choosing our community as their home," says Darby, whose team is also involved in several community service initiatives. "It is a great time for residents to get to know one another and interact with staff."

"The best way I can describe the feel of the community is just very chill and laid back," McClain adds. "Everyone I've met—neighbors, leasing staff, maintenance staff, pool friends—are all so very nice and welcoming. I've made so many friends while hanging out at the pool this summer."

Wait-residents who are happy with the rent and actually use the pool?! A unique community, indeed.
